Everything you do as an actor is important. You have to feel that what you can give as an actor is important. You have to feel a great sense of responsibility about what you do. – Stella Adler, The Art of Acting
Do you feel what you do is important? You should. If the work you do is not important to you, you will not give it the right necessary energy. You should find a vocation that is important to you personally, and that you feel what you can give to it is important. So many people are engaged in jobs for the wrong reasons, therefore sub-par performance and lack of satisfaction follows. Without the sense of responsibility and meaning, your work will suffer.
